The Four wives

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives. He lovedthe 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated herto the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off toneighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leavehim for another. He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem,he could confide in her, and she would help him get through thedifficult times. The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made greatcontributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he didnot love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly tooknotice of her !One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thoughtof his luxurious life and wondered, "I now have four wives with me,but when I die, I'll be all alone."Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed youwith the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now thatI'm dying, will you follow me and keep my company?" "No way!", repliedthe 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cutlike a sharp knife right into his heart. The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep my company?" "No!",replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going toremarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help andyou've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me andkeep my company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!",replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only walk with you toyour grave." Her answer struck him like a bolt of lightning, and theKing was devastated. Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matterwhere you go." The King looked up, and there was his first wife. Shewas very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect.Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better careof you when I had the chance!"
In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavishin making it look good, it will leave us when we die.
Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, itwill all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. Nomatter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they canstay by us is up to the grave.
And our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only thingthat will follow us wherever we go.Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part ofus that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with usthroughout Eternity.
Thought for the day:Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in theperfect position to pray.

Sri Sri Ravishankar's Article in The Times Of India dated 4th march 09

THE SPEAKING TREE
Make The World A Safe Place For All Of Us
Discourse: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Seeing life from a perspective of space and time will deepen your vision about your life. The corrupt amass a lot of money, but cannot spend all of it. Then one day they die. Children might inherit the wealth — maybe they fight over it. Seeing life in the context of the universe and unfathomable time can broaden your vision, your mind and enrich your heart. Corruption can be countered by five Cs. The first is a sense of connectedness. Lack of a sense of belonging breeds corruption in society. That is why corruption is lowest at the village level. But in urban areas, it’s high because there is little or no sense of community. The second C is courage. Lack of self-esteem or confidence in one’s own ability is one of the causes of corruption. Fear or insecurity makes one corrupt. When you try to find security only through money, it doesn’t work. Even after acquiring more money, the insecurity doesn’t disappear. In fact, you become more fearful because the money might not have been earned in the right manner. So you need to have courage and confidence in your ability and in the laws of nature.

The third C is an understanding of cosmology: looking at one’s own life in the context of extended space and time. What is the human lifespan, just 80 or 100 years? See life in the context of the huge dimension of time. Billions of years have passed since creation. And everything in this creation is recycled. The air we breathe is old, every cell in our body, every atom is old, and the oxygen and hydrogen is old! The fourth C is care and compassion, important since they bring dedication. Its lack causes corruption. The Kumbha Mela was attended by 30 million people — nearly three million people each day — without violent incidents, theft or robbery! The fifth one is commitment. When a person has a goal, a commitment to a higher cause in life, it brings a shift from taking to giving. If you only think ‘What can i gain?’ rather than ‘What can i contribute?’, corruption cannot be rooted out. We need to shift our attitude to commit ourselves to give. All this is not possible without individual spiritual uplift. A sense of belonging with the whole world. Today, we have globalized everything other than wisdom. And that is one of the causes of terrorism and unrest in the world today. We accept food from every part of the world, we accept music from every part of the world, but when it comes to wisdom, people seem to shy away. If every child in the world learns a little about all cultures, about each other’s values, the whole scenario will be different. Then one will not think, ‘Only i will go to heaven. Everyone else will go to hell’. Lack of knowledge of this truth has caused so many problems. Even if one part of the world remains ignorant of these shared values, the world will not be a safe place. It is not something we can do overnight, but it can be done through education and creating that sense of community, through inspiration and example. Religion is like the banana skin and spirituality is the banana. Spirituality, the values, are the same in every religion. The differences are superficial. It is good to have differences. Nurture the differences but also enliven spiritual values. Then together we can make the world joyous and safe

तेरे प्यार में हर जाऊ

I was limping and had excruciating pain in my ankle, all thanks to the sports shoe I was gifted by a aol devotee of kolkata on my way back to Noida. I think it’s almost 2yrs now to this incident.
Usually I prefer sandal upon shoes, but come on……… those were Reebok and of my exact size। I kept flaunting my new found possession throughout my few cities trip for satsangs to West Bengal, completely untold about the darker part of it। As the universal rule says that all shoes take time to mould as per feet and comfort so this shoes were no exception। But on their way to make them shelf comfortable with my feet they bruised by ankle terribly ।On the top of it I kept on carrying them resulting in blood clotting and which in turn became a red-blackish colored swollen ankle.
I don’t know how I walked all the way from old Howrah station to the New Howrah station to board my train {FYI – The distance is almost 1 km through over bridge}. In the night when everyone where enjoying their dreams I was battling with nerve wrecking pain. The seconds where feeling like minutes and minutes where taking hours to pass before we could have reached New Delhi. Gradually the pain spread through my whole right feet, knees, thighs, and hip and reached my spine. I was feeling like to scream at the top of my vocal but all I could do at that time was cry and call “HIM”.
Even though it took ages to reach New Delhi, I landed the next morning there. But the biggest challenge now was to go to the cab which was waiting outside the station to pick me up which was completely out of question. Somehow I started but each step was felling like a hunter slap on my back. One can see nerves popped out in my forehead, eyes & face like blood red. Usually I don’t prefer to bother “HIM” every now & then for problems & botherations but this was a state where it had rolled out of my control.
So I put my baggage & Guitar down closed my eyes in mid of buzzing New Delhi station and prayed,”Please take it from me”. By this time I had somehow managed to drag myself out of the station and even spotted my cab. My driver came and took over the baggage from me and let me take him as a support to walk. The car was maximum 40 feet away but as they say it’s toughest to fight when you are nearest to conquest. I had reached the max out of pain, and visuals started dissolving from my sight.
Suddenly gravity lost its command on me as I was swept off my feet into the arms of an Army officer. I couldn’t see him as my eyes where flooded with tears and even though his lips didn’t parted but I heard,”I m here”. It might have looked so weird a 23yr brat in the arms of an army officer, but I guess it was need of time & mine. “He” placed me on the back seat and left, and before the car started moving “He” turned and gave me the million pound smile.
Next thing I knew was that I was home, and rest is history .Baba took me to hospital for a minor operation {with anesthesia} and after 2 weeks I was jumping like a baby kangaroo.

Many of times we feel alone, left out and not being taken care off. But “He” has his eyes on each one of us, its just that “He” wants us to be strong and go getter rather than a Pappu. But that certainly doesn’t mean that he won’t answer your calls but it got be a call which connects to him via your Soul and he come down for you in any form.
नज़र बनाओ , नज़रें वो ख़ुद दिखा देंगे .

I Love you Guruji !!!!!!!!
